Dr. Brittany Watson is a licensed and dual board-certified Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner in family medicine and psychiatric mental health. Her training in both specialties allows her to understand the critical link between physical and mental well-being across the lifespan. She is a San Diego native and enjoys playing sports, traveling and beach days with her family and two dogs. Dr. Watson is also the Director of Nurse Practitioners for Achieve Medical Center.

What can patients expect from you as a provider? I have a strong belief in holistic care utilizing a variety of treatment modalities including psychotropic medications, in addition to evidence based complementary and alternative treatments. Establishing rapport and trust with my patients as well as including them in their plan of care is something I truly believe in. During our first visit together, expect a “get to know you” approach. We will address your concerns and go at your pace and I will be along your side on your personal journey to wellness.

What do you specialize in? She treats general psychiatric disorders in children, adolescents and adults with an emphasis on depressive mood disorders, ADHD, anxiety and sleep disorders.

What makes you different as a provider? I was trained as both a primary care and psychiatric mental health provider and understands treating the patient as a “whole” (physically, mentally and spiritually). You will experience a collaborative approach to care with honest, empathetic communication with her patients, while providing high quality, compassionate care. The importance of patient advocacy and ensuring you feel heard, understood and listened too is vital for effective healthcare.

How long have you lived in San Diego? I was born and raised in San Diego, where my family currently resides. I have lived in Pennsylvania while obtaining my masters and enjoy going back each year for football games.

What sort of interests and hobbies do you have? In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, trying out new restaurants, being the captain of an indoor soccer team, tennis and beach days with my family and dogs (Nala and Simba).
